Vipers Win Again

Port St. John’s very own Space Coast High School Vipers Win Again.  The Vipers took on Okeechobee High School in a Regional semi-final match Tuesday night, February 4th where they recorded a 3-0 victory.  The first goal was scored in the first half by Jackie Dove off a touch by Keegan Olsen from a corner kick.  The second half saw Bobby Franz on the receiving end of a hard foul immediately in front of the goal resulting in a PK.  Chris Welcome made quick work of the opportunity and recorded the Viper’s second goal.  The third goal was put in by Dominic Deview after some beautiful ball movement inside the 18 involving several Viper attackers.  The Viper midfield and back line were incredible all night long.  Alex Nero stood tall in goal fending off all Okeechobee attacks to record his second shutout in the playoffs.  PSJ Soccer congratulates Coach Bob and all the Vipers for providing us with some beautiful soccer and an opportunity for all the up and coming PSJ Soccer players to see first hand how the game is played.

Is Your Company Interested In Supporting Our Organization?

If you have a child playing at our club we’re sure you would agree that we offer a great value. Over the years we’ve managed to keep our registration fees the lowest in the county, while at the same time providing a great soccer experience for our kids.

The heart of our organization are the volunteers and local businesses who give of their time and treasure to support us. Our thanks go out to each and every one of them.

As we begin planning for the Fall 2009 season we’re looking for new corporate sponsors to help make our upcoming season the best ever. Might the company you work for be interested in helping, and receiving a free advertising banner hung at the park as a sign of our appreciation? Why not ask your manager and find out? It’s a great way to support the community. If your company would like to donate please contact our donations coordinator. She would be glad to assist you.

A Few Reminders About Club Rules And Safety

While visiting our facility, either during training sessions or match days, we need  your full cooperation in the following areas:

Please do not move the goals or the player benches.  These are heavy and have been placed where they need to be.  It is not necessary that either be moved.

Please make certain that all goals are anchored.  This is the responsiblity of EVERYONE.  We do not want to see anyone injured from goals falling over.  If you see a goal that is not anchored, take action and anchor it.  If you need assistance, contact a board member and let them know immediately.

Should the weather become unfavorable, listen to the announcement that is made.  If lightning is in the area we will clear the fields.  When the fields are cleared, EVERYONE must leave the area and wait in their cars until the "all clear" is given.  We will wait a minimum of 30 minutes after a lightning strike is detected before allowing play (training or matches) to resume.  Remember, the weather changes quickly - please wait it out, we will try to resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

All players, during training sessions and on match days must have on their shin guards.  Socks MUST also be worn OVER the shin guards.  This is a mandatory part of the equipment necessary to participate.  Please make sure that on match days that all players wear the complete uniform that the club provides.  This includes the provided socks and shorts.

Animals are not allowed in the park, unless they are service dogs.

Smoking areas are provided outside of the fences.

Please help us make this a great season by cooperating in these areas.

Thanks
